Service Driver

Job Description:
As a Service Driver, you are responsible for servicing assigned route(s) with the servicing of portable restrooms, handwash stations, and other equipment. The driver is expected to always represent CS Portables in a safe and respectable manner while servicing customer accounts assigned to them throughout the day. The driver is also responsible for communicating and reporting back regularly to both the Service Manager and Office Manager.
The season is May to mid-November. The driver may not work December through the beginning of April. Hours for the season are as follows: May – November, Monday – Friday with Saturdays as needed. Please understand hours or Saturdays may fluctuate depending on the volume of work.
- Operate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- Service portable restrooms, handwash stations, and other company equipment to the expectations that meet or exceed the company’s standards for service.
- Complete assigned routes.
- Communicate with Service/Office Managers as route changes or issues arise
- Conduct pre-trip/post trip vehicle inspections
- Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
- Keeping truck clean and operating properly within driver’s ability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to follow driving directions as assigned on route assignments.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing up to 40lbs.)
- Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
- Previous CDL truck driving experience preferred.
- Must be able to maneuver and back up a trailer in tight spaces/busy jobsites.
- Waste industry experience, a plus.
- Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must not have any DUI’s or OVI’s within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
- Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
- Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, and signals.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing up to 40lbs.)
- Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
- Possible exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicle.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Sporadic local travel required.
